
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Black adult. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at approximately 9:39 a.m.
South Los Angeles Sheriff Deputies and Los Angeles County Fire responded to the 1000 block of West Imperial Highway, in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles regarding a Gun Shot Victim call.
When they arrived, they discovered a male Black adult suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was transported to a local hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Detectives on scene believe the person shot, was engaged in an attempted armed robbery of the location, which is a marijuana dispensary. An armed, uniformed, security guard confronted the suspect and a shooting occurred. The deceased suspect was armed with a handgun.
