L.A. Department of Cannabis Regulation seeks industry suggestions, feedback

The Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation Tuesday urged cannabis industry stakeholders to participate in its community engagement campaign to gather suggestions as it makes future cannabis policy and programming recommendations to Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City Council.

The next “SPARK Session” is scheduled Thursday and will focus on corporate social responsibility. The program is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with an extended session from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are invited to share their opinion on what should be included in its Corporate Social Responsibility Report, how often businesses should submit the reports, how businesses should participate in social equity and transitional worker reporting and what criteria should be added to the Social Equity Program Individual Applicant verification.

The department will also hold a SPARK Session at the same time on June 8 to gather suggestions about its social equity program. The final SPARK Session, which will focus on community impact, will take place on June 12, at 9 a.m., with the extended session scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The department announced the SPARK Program on April 20. Along with SPARK Sessions, the community engagement campaign includes:

— SPARK Resources: information stations that will have fact sheets and frequently asked questions about the department, its program, policies and general cannabis-related questions;

— SPARK Surveys: surveys that provide the department with direct feedback from people in the community and cannabis industry on current policies, programs and ways the department can improve services; and

— SPARK Comment Box, which will allow anyone to give feedback on “all things cannabis.”

People can access the SPARK campaign by visiting bit.ly/3n33emB and RSVP to the next SPARK session at form.jotform.com/210948813741156.
